Spring Kitchen Table Decor - The Honeycomb Home (2024)

It’s that time of year when we begin craving Spring flowers. In winter when I can’t get cut flowers from my yard, I make good use of grocery store flowers for my Spring kitchen table decor.

This is an early Spring table with a few basic, but pretty, items. I put this beautiful table together purely to brighten up the house for winter.

When you are looking for Spring kitchen table decor, there are two things I’d recommend starting with. The first is a natural element, such as fresh flowers. And second, a simple set of white dishes.

Once you have those two things, you can work on place settings and filling in with decorative objects. Adding additional layers is what brings it all together.

Spring Flowers

You always need natural elements when decorating and Spring flowers are the obvious choice for a gorgeous centerpiece. I prefer tulips in Spring. As you can see I already bought a small bunch to brighten up the house.

I often check Trader Joe’s for fresh flowers. They always have an interesting variety at the lowest prices of all our local stores.

What better way to brighten up your spring table decor than with pink tulips? I especially love them when they start to droop over the vase.

The vase I used here is a vintage pitcher I found recently. It was made in England and has a floral rose pattern on it. I thought it would be a perfect addition to my spring look.

I can never resist a pretty floral pitcher for displaying flowers!

Dishes for a Spring Table

For my early spring table, I used only a salad plate at each setting. This is more of an afternoon tea table setting than a formal dinner setting.

My simple set of white dishes is used often. They’re great for everyday use and are the best way to set a neutral base for special table settings.

To keep it interesting from season to season I’ll switch out the salad plates, centerpieces, and other Spring table decorations.

You guys know I’m always on the hunt for vintage decor and this entire tablescape reflects that. The small teacups are from Staffordshire and made in England. They are adorable and in excellent condition which makes me question how old they are.

Another recent find was this brass mail holder. I thought it would make an adorable napkin holder. Here I placed linen napkins in it.

Isn’t that fun? Also on the table is a set of vintage French rooster bowls. Those and the mail holder add unexpected interest.

Table linens

Swapping out tablecloths or changing your table runner is another great way to keep your dining room table looking fresh.

While I do have several vintage tablecloths, this checkered one isn’t. It has such great texture and I love the subtle pattern.

Vintage table linens can be found inexpensive and they’re an easy way to mix things up for a different look. I love them in combination with a pretty floral arrangement.

Speaking of subtle patterns, the teacups have mini versions of the graphics on the inside as well. Adorable.

Add a few little tea light candles and you have a simple but pretty little Spring vignette. It helps me to think Spring until the warm weather arrives.

More Spring Decor Ideas

Here are a few more Spring decorating ideas from years past.

This spring table had a cute place setting idea. If you have a special occasion coming up, this would make a great party favor idea as well.

Add a sprig of fresh greenery and a pretty pack of flower seeds. Use a plant marker as a place card by writing the name of your guest on it.

For the setting above, I used popsicle sticks with the person’s name on one side and the type of flower in the seed packs on the back.

For an Easter place setting idea, this one is simple. I used faux flowers and a styrofoam egg to make these.

In the center of the table, I created an Easter centerpiece using a cake dish. I filled it with bunnies, colored Easter eggs, and moss.

As you can see, this is all very easy and super cute for an Easter table.

Easy Spring Decor DIY Ideas

If you’re looking for easy Spring decor DIY projects, here are a couple that would compliment a beautiful spring table.

My Spring wreath is an oldie but a goodie. The simple things are often my favorite. This won’t last forever but will last quite a while even after the eucalyptus dries out.

And these DIY stamped tea towels make a fun and easy craft idea for long winter days. This one is simple enough that children can do it as well.
