Gosh, I love TikTok.

It’s the greatest thing to happen to the internet ever because it gives us the best hacks to make easy, delicious recipes right at home.

And this cinnamon roll hack doesn’t disappoint.

My husband said they tasted just like Cinnabon, but even better!

What’s not to love about that?

Ingredients

Like most TikTok recipes, this doesn’t need more than a few ingredients. To make it, you’ll need:

  • Refrigerated cinnamon rolls– 2 17.5 ounce cans. Each can should be a 5 count and come with icing.
  • Heavy cream– Don’t substitute this.
  • Butter– Melted, and I recommend using the salted variety although regular will also work. That little bit of salt really enhances the overall sweetness.
  • Brown sugar– I prefer light, but you could use dark if you’d rather.

How to Make

To make this, lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking dishwith non stick spray and set it aside.

Then open the cinnamon rolls and aside the icing containers.

Add the rolls to the prepared dish in a single layer and pour the heavy cream evenly out over the rolls so it gets into the tops and cracks.

Then whisk the melted butter and brown sugar together in a small bowl.

Once it is evenly combined, pour it over top of the heavy creamed covered cinnamon rolls.

Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake the cinnamon rolls at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, uncover and bake them for another 7 to 10 minutes or until they have risen completely and are golden brown on the edges.

Once this happens, remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, use a spatula to spread both cans of icing evenly out over the warm rolls.

Serve and enjoy!

Light Brown Sugar or Dark Brown Sugar for Cinnamon Rolls

You can use either light or dark brown sugar for cinnamon rolls.

So what’s the difference?

The dark brown sugar has a more intense molasses flavor that you may prefer.

On the other hand, light brown sugar will give the rolls a more caramel flavor.

Storing leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days but keep in mind they will be better the sooner you use them.

Reheat in a warm oven.

Tips and tricks

  • While the recipe calls for a 9×13″ baking dish, I used one that was slightly smaller. It just fit all the rolls without excess space allowing all the cream and melted butter and sugar to stay pooled around the cinnamon rolls and none was left behind.
  • You can add a sprinkle of extra ground cinnamon over top before baking, but I found them to be delicious without it.
  • Don’t forget to spray the pan with nonstick spray or the rolls will be very difficult to remove. It also makes for easier clean up!

I haven’t tried your recipe, but tried something similar and the rolls didn’t bake except for the very outside edge
and I ended up throwing almost all of it away. I didn’t have a printed recipe to follow, just an educated guess after watching several videos.
I may give it one more try.

All oven’s cook a little different, and I had that happen the first time I tested them with my gas oven. I just let them continue baking uncovered until the centers were set. Nothing happened other than the edges got a little deeper of a golden brown. So, in the event, 30 minutes isn’t long enough- just keep an eye on them and let them keep baking until cooked through.
